*Building Inspector/Fire Marshall – The City of Clanton is seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to fill the role of Building Inspector/Fire Marshal. The Building Official/Fire Marshal is responsible for the overall guidance, direction, and management of the city’s Building Code Division and state adopted codes as applicable. This position monitors, implements, and enforces all rules and ordinances related to building codes and to any other general health or safety matters under the jurisdiction of the City of Clanton with integrity and professionalism. Bachelor’s degree preferred with four years of Inspector experience and/or training with knowledge of building codes, zoning ordinances and codes; or, equivalent combination of education and experience. • Certified firefighter • Nationally registered paramedic. • Ability to detect hazards and violations and detail what the Codes require during field inspection work; ability to enforce regulations with firmness, tact, and impartiality in field inspection work. • Ability to multitask and prioritize daily workload. • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. *Parks & Recreation Laborer – The City of Clanton is seeking to fill a full-time hourly position. Parks and Recreation Laborers assist with activities regarding maintaining and repairing City facilities and open spaces in order to ensure safe and clean parks and complexes for public use. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) plus one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in construction, equipment operation, or commercial landscaping is preferred but not a requirement.
